We invite you to post jobs and internships for Boston College students and alumni on听Handshake, our online career management platform.听Prior to posting, you must听register in Handshake. Use the resources from Handshake below to learn how to post a job.听
Note: Handshake may not be the best place to post your job or internship.
- If you are seeking current students for part-time volunteer opportunities, contact the听Boston College Volunteer and Service Learning Center.
- If you are seeking professional school candidates, contact the听Boston College Law School, the听Carroll School of Management Graduate Programs, and the听School of Social Work听to post on their job boards.听
- If you are seeking experienced hires, our听Handshake job board is only available to alumni within five years of graduation.
Handshake is intended for job and internship positions that are appropriate for current students and recent alumni. As such, the following types of positions will NOT be approved:
- Incomplete, unclear, or overly brief job description
- Internships that do not provide a learning environment supported by supervision
- Positions that do not require a degree or seek candidates working towards a degree
- Email domain that does not match the organization鈥檚 website
- International admissions consulting or tutoring positions
- Positions or volunteer opportunities that require students to pay a fee for placement, travel or expenses, or make an investment prior to employment
- Commission only positions will not be approved if the opportunity does not meet the demands of Boston College students/graduates
- Placement agencies/organizations offering unspecified opportunities to teach abroad
- Third-party recruiters posting job opportunities on behalf of their clients unless the name of the client, their location, and the job title are clearly indicated in the posting
- Employers from the Cannabis Industry
Boston College and many of our students are recipients of federal funding. To avoid a conflict in federal and state laws, and to protect our students from potential exposure to federal prosecution by association, the Boston College Career Center is unable to approve employers or job postings involved with the development, production, testing, distribution, or use of recreational or medical marijuana.
The Boston College Career Center posts professional opportunities for students and alumni. If you wish to post non-internship, part-time/hourly jobs for students (including campus marketing/brand ambassador roles, retail/cashier positions, server/hosting at a restaurant, or babysitting/personal care/family tutoring roles), please post those positions on听,听,听,听.

The Boston College Career Center鈥檚 role is to support recruiting practices that are reasonable and appropriate for employers and students alike. Recognizing that students need time to make informed decisions when comparing and responding to offers, and employers need to be able to effectively manage their time-sensitive recruitment processes, the following guidelines are intended to provide students and employers a fair and transparent framework for managing the offer phase of the recruiting process in this increasingly competitive job market.
All Boston College students are required to sign a social responsibility agreement prior to participating in on-campus recruitment. The agreement includes policies for students who miss on-campus interviews, act unethically during the job/internship search process, or renege on employment offers. In return, we encourage our employer partners to uphold the听听and abide by the听. These principles discourage employers from engaging in practices that could lead some students to believe they were pressured to accept job offers and undermine the process which allows candidates to make an informed decision. As such, we ask employers to abide by the following Job and Internship Offer Decision Deadlines.

Candidates have been informed of the following policies, so they will know what to expect throughout the on-campus recruiting process.
- Exploding Offers听
Employers should provide fair and reasonable time periods for students to evaluate employment offers prior to making a decision. Asking a student if he or she is ready to make a decision on the spot, or asking a student to respond to a hypothetical offer is considered an unacceptable practice. Employers should refrain from using exploding offers and special incentives such as diminishing bonuses and location preference to induce a student to accept an offer early. These practices place undue pressure on students. - Second Round Interviews听
Employers who conduct extensive second round or 鈥渟uper day鈥� interviews are asked to share these dates with our office at the time of scheduling their on-campus interviews. To create a fair and equitable process, employers should not schedule second round interviews during the first week of On-糖心vlog官网 Recruiting. If a second round interview conflicts with a student鈥檚 previously scheduled first round interview, class, or other valid conflict, employers should offer alternative second round interview date options for our students.听 - Written Offers听
Employers are expected to keep students informed of their status in the hiring process and to communicate hiring decisions within a reasonable time frame. Employers should extend offers in writing. The offer should include all appropriate terms and conditions, including, but not limited to, position title/description, location, benefits, start date, salary, bonuses, etc.听 - Offer Extensions
Students are encouraged to meet with a Career Center staff member to navigate the job offer and negotiation process. We guide students on how to make a decision within the dates noted above, however, sometimes there are extenuating circumstances and students may ask for extensions. We ask that employers consider each request on a case-by-case basis, and to be flexible in accommodating these requests.听 - Alcohol Policy听
Serving alcohol should not be part of the recruitment process on or off campus, even if all students are of legal drinking age. Offering alcohol can inappropriately shift the focus of the event and may put students in an uncomfortable position. The Boston College Career Center does not support serving alcohol as part of the recruitment process and will not promote such events.

We use Handshake to manage the on-campus interviewing program and job/internship postings.听Employers may request an on-campus interviewing date through Handshake.
- Current Users: If you already have a Handshake account, simply connect with Boston College.
- New Users: Request access to Handshake first, and then request to connect to Boston College.

We request a minimum of two weeks following a career fair in order to allow sufficient time to receive and review applications and preselect interview candidates.
NOTE: For employers wishing to interview candidates the day following their attendance at a Career & Internship Fair, employers must schedule those interviews directly with candidates outside of Handshake. In this instance, select 鈥淩oom Only鈥� when requesting an on-campus interview schedule.
A typical interview schedule is comprised of twelve 30 minute interview time blocks. The schedule spans from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with two 15 minute breaks and a one-hour lunch break from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Adjustments can be made upon request.
The typical interview duration is 30 minutes. However, we can accommodate 45, 60, or 90 minutes.

It is recommended that employers post their OCI job/internship description(s) as soon as possible and no later than one month prior to the on-campus interview date.
NOTE: It is imperative to link the specific position(s) to the appropriate on-campus interview schedule(s).
听
Employers may request and/or require a cover letter, unofficial transcript, or other documents such as references or an application form. Indicate these requirements on the form when posting your job description(s).
Coffee chats are offered throughout the year and are managed through the On-campus Interviewing Program, based on availability.听 From your homepage in Handshake, select 鈥淩equest an Interview鈥�, complete the request form and include the following:
- Include 鈥淐offee Chat鈥� in the Interview Schedule Name,听 Interview Schedule Description, and in the title of the job/internship position associated with the interview schedule
- Select your desired interview date(s), number of rooms, and preferred Coffee Chat timeline.
Information Sessions/Recruiting Events
From your homepage, select 鈥淐reate an Event鈥�, select 鈥淥n-糖心vlog官网鈥� for the format and pay special attention to the 鈥淓vent Name鈥� and 鈥楧escription鈥� fields so they will be attention-grabbing and informative.
In order to effectively promote your event to students, it is recommended that you submit your request at least one month prior to your ideal on-campus date. Keep in mind holidays, breaks, and other events on the BC calendar. If you are working directly with a student organization to schedule an event, consult the Recruiting office prior to finalizing the date and time to avoid scheduling conflicts with other prearranged employer events facilitated through our office.
Information Sessions:
- Classrooms: Evening events may be requested Monday-Thursday, 6:15-9:00 p.m., pending availability. BC catering is available, but not required. Outside catering is permitted.
- Function Rooms: Evening events may be requested Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:00 p.m., pending availability. BC catering and per person minimum is required based on function room location.
Recruiting Events:
- Tabling / Drop-In Sessions: Held in Fulton Hall Atrium, Monday鈥揊riday, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., pending availability. Table rental is available.

Career and Internship Fairs
There is no end date for registrations. However, capacity is reached 1-2 weeks prior to the fair and we will maintain a wait list.
We are committed to offering our students a diverse mix of job and internship opportunities from a variety of industries. Therefore, selection of career fair employers is based on current job market conditions and student demands. Your registration will be reviewed by the Career Center staff before it is approved, and your registration is not confirmed until you receive a detailed confirmation email with your invoice.
Two representatives from each organization are welcome to attend.听

All cancellation requests must be emailed to employer.recruiting@bc.edu. The deadline to request a registration cancellation or refund is ten business days prior to the event by 5:00 p.m Eastern Time. Any cancellation request received before the cancellation deadline will receive a full (100%) refund. No refunds will be issued after this date.
If you do not show up on the day of the Career Fair, and your cancellation request was not received by the deadline, you will be responsible for paying the full registration fee. If you fail to pay in full, your organization will not be permitted to register for the next fair. Registration fees will not be credited toward a future fair.
If Boston College is closed the day of the event due to inclement weather, the Career Center will attempt to reschedule the event. Organizations that have already paid will be able to apply their fees to the new date or have the option to receive a full refund.
Wi-Fi inside our function spaces can have very limited capacity. You will likely not be able to download files, videos or presentations. If you wish to display information on your laptop or tablet, we strongly suggest you download the information to your device in advance. Please have your device fully charged because we cannot allow extension cords on the floor for safety reasons.
If you would like to ship materials in advance of the fair, your package(s) must be properly labeled as listed below. Please plan to have your packages arrive at least three business days prior to the fair.
